Glow of the Laboratory

Been a crazy couple of past weeks for me. Took a break from painting after Monsterpalooza, but that could only last so long- so I decided to crank out a larger scale acrylic painting, and this was the result. Painted on masonite board. I have a feeling there will be lots more to come soon. I am also getting started on a larger airbrush illo of Creature from the Black Lagoon. Man, Universal monsters are too much fun to paint!

Oh, by the way- this painting is for sale if anyone is interested. Contact me and I will let you know the price and paypal info.

Blister

During the excitement of the Halloween season last year, I somehow managed to skip posting some of my recent artwork. This is was a return to a traditonal art style I hadn't worked with for many years- acrylic on canvas. Basically just a large scale version of a character I painted in one of my Bottle Cap Monsters which I called "Broccoli Head". My daughter Brandi got such a kick out of the character that I gave her the Bottle Cap Monster and then decided it would be fun to do a larger version of that character. I really have no idea what is going on here, just a lovely green skeleton zombie that is blistering over I suppose. The original painting will be availble for purchase at the Monsterpalooza show in Burbank, CA - May 29th-31st 2009.
