I missed the deadline for an Illustration Friday theme by a couple weeks. The theme was Phoenix, and for some strange reason I envisioned a chicken or a rooster attempting to light himself on fire to imitate a phoenix. The initial pencil sketch for this one was posted a few posts earlier. The illo was painted in Photoshop, the rest was laid out and designed in Illustrator. It was fun to use the art in a design environment again!
