From A Twisted Mind...

I was checking out Grant Gould's blogsite the other day, and he had a post on there with a drawing that he had reversed to help show him the flaws in it. I found this sketch that I had done during a meeting and thought I would see what happened. Of course, I cheated- I didn't really flip the art, I just turned it upside down. I have always loved putting crazy things like this in my drawings... this was ball point pen on a notepad, background colors added in Photoshop.

Eliza, thanks again for the comments, nice to know that someone is checking out the artwork! I can't really say that I was inspired by tattoo artwork, although I have certainly studied and paid attention to that style, the inspiration behind this sort of drawing comes more from my love of horror movies, especially John Carpenter's "The Thing"... I loved the creatures that were a blobish blend of many "things" all in one. Also, one of my art heroes is the legendary Bernie Wrightson. He did a graphic novel of Spider Man many years ago, and there were several creatures similar to this in that book. I think thats where the inspiration comes from.
