Phantom Number 90

This is a mile stone post! Number 90! Back when I started this blog I had no idea if I would keep my enthusiasm for it, but it has been lots of fun and I have been able to meet a lot of great artists because of it. This is a digital painting I did in Photoshop, I wanted to take a shot at doing a catoon style Phantom of the Opera, and I wanted to do it in a "Basil Gogos" style as well, using lots of crazy colors. So here he is. This thing makes me laugh whenever I look at it! not sure if I nailed the Lon Chaney Sr likeness or not, maybe a bit on the Tim Conway side? Either way, I think it turned out great, and I had a great time painting it. I am working on setting up a store here soon, and I have a cool line of original art that will be for sale here soon as well. As always, thanks for stopping by to check out the monsters. I know they enjoy the company!

Oh. My. Gosh. That is one SCARY face.

You did a beautiful job, Patrick! The eyes and those teeth are particularly nicely-rendered. WOW.

And congratulations on #90!!! *applauds*

That's a cool piece patrick, I can see you are really excited by Gogos' work. I understand a lot of people were this year at Comic-Con. I didn't make it this year, but maybe next year.....

Yikes! It's great and unsettling at the same time. Congratulations on #90! Artist's blogs are my favorite thing on the internet... thanks for helping to keep me entertained!

Funny and disturbing at the same time. Funny becasue of the exagerated features. Disturbing because those features are rendered with so much wet detail.
