For My Son Christian

This piece was started a while back, and I had actually forgotten about it until last night. Still have a long way to go to finish this one. My 9 year old son Christian is a die-hard Star Wars fan just like his old man. When Episode II came out, we were both blown away by the character Jango Fett. I sketched this one out with non-repro blue pencil, then started shading it with a micron pen. It takes forever to get the shading right with stippling, but it sure looks cool. Last night I was giving Christian a cartooning lesson, and as I was flipping through an old sketch book, he noticed this drawing in the back. He was quite excited to learn that I had drawn this for him. So I am gonna have to finish this one up for sure. Christian is becoming quite an artist as well, and it was fun to start giving him some pointers last night. Looking forward to being able to see his work progress, it's the coolest thing in the world to have kids that share my passion for artwork!

Cool piece Patrick! Really detailed work. I am also a fan of the Fett's (more so of Boba, though) in Star Wars.

As a kid I used to buy all the short novel books I could find about the mercenaries hunting down Han Solo. Boba Fett was my favourite of all the characters.

And it's really cool that you can share thoughts and techniques with your kid! :) I hope to see his work too one day!
